Antioxidant enzyme activity associated to Meloidogyne and Pratylenchus infection in sugarcane

The plant-parasitic nematodes Meloidogyne and Pratylenchus are the main nematode pathogens reducing sugarcane yield worldwide. Despite, defense responses to overcome pathogen stresses through neutralizing cytotoxicity of reactive oxygen species (ROS) have been reported for a range important crops pathogens, few studies developed under stress. aim this study was evaluate antioxidant enzymes superoxide dismutase (SOD) ascorbate peroxidase (APX) at different density in replant field ratoon crop. Evaluations based on densities, plant growth parameters SOD APX activity six (T6) nine (T9) months after planting (Area 1) or cutting 2 - crop). abundance significantly decreased Area 1, but not 2. In contrast, increased time both areas, over time, did present significant fluctuation contrast increase Abundance correlated positively with number tillers negatively height stalks, besides negative correlation between stalk diameter.
